Product Description

Navel is the first Egyptian orange to reach export markets each season. Picking starts in November and runs to the end of February, which puts Egyptian fruit in front of buyers well before the Valencia crop is ready. The fruit is seedless, peels easily, and carries an oval shape that grades and packs consistently.

Brix measures between 12.5 and 14.5, with acidity at roughly 0.9%. That ratio is the reason the variety travels well as an eating orange: sweet enough for retail shelves, with enough citrus edge that the flavour does not read as flat by the time it reaches the destination market. Peel thickness and firm flesh also hold up through long sea transit, which is what makes Navel a practical choice for distant markets rather than only regional ones.

Sizes and counts

Navel oranges are packed to count rather than to individual fruit weight. A lower count means larger fruit: at 40 you are packing the biggest grade, at 113 the smallest. Nine counts are available — 40, 48, 56, 64, 72, 80, 88, 100 and 113.

Which counts are open at any point in the season depends on the harvest window and fruit maturity, so confirm the count with our sales team when you place the order rather than assuming the full range is available year-round.

Packing

The standard pack is a 15 kg carton or plastic box. Three other formats are available — an 8 kg carton, a 15 kg open-top carton and a 7.5 kg open-top carton — for buyers whose retail or wholesale channel needs a different unit. Full pallet and container figures are in the loading table below.

Carton printing, private labels, barcodes and other packing details are prepared to your specification and to the labelling rules of the destination market. Tell us the format you need and we will quote against it.

Quality and compliance

Gaara Export holds GLOBALG.A.P. certification with GRASP for social practice, BRC for food safety, SMETA for ethical trade, ISO 9001:2015 for quality management and ISO 22000 for food-safety management, accredited through EGAC and IAF. For a buyer, that means the paperwork behind a shipment is in order before the fruit is loaded, which matters as much as the fruit itself when a container clears customs.

Fruit is selected, sorted and graded to the agreed count, then loaded into temperature-controlled reefer containers. Cold chain is held from packhouse to port.

We supply Navel oranges in bulk to importers, wholesalers and distributors. Send us the count, packing format and destination market and we will come back with a quote and the loading plan for your order.
