Product Description

Keitt is a late-season Egyptian mango, harvested from the first of August to late October. The fruit is large, keeps a green to light green peel with no red or purple blush, and has firm, bright orange flesh with a high Brix, which makes it a good fit for importers who want to extend their mango programme later into the year.

Fruit profile

Shape. Ovoid, sometimes slightly oblong. The dorsal shoulder slopes, the ventral shoulder sits above the stalk zone, and the apex is round with a small lateral beak.

Peel. Thick and smooth, green to light green, sometimes with a slight yellow tint at full ripeness. There is no red or purple blush.

Flesh. Firm and bright orange, slightly fibrous, with a sweet flavour and a high Brix. The firm flesh and thick peel help the fruit hold up on long routes.

Sizes and counts

Keitt is graded by piece count per 4 kg carton. Three counts are available:

  • 5 – 7 pieces — 800 to 570 g per fruit
  • 7 – 8 pieces — 570 to 500 g per fruit
  • 9 – 10 pieces — 450 to 400 g per fruit

Which counts are open depends on the harvest and how the crop sizes up in a given season, so confirm the grade with our sales team when you place the order.

Packing and shipping

The standard pack is a 4 kg or 5 kg carton or box. Keitt mangoes are shipped by both air freight and sea freight, so the shipping route can be matched to your market, arrival window and cost per kilo.

Carton printing, labels and barcodes are prepared to your specification and to the labelling rules of the destination market.

Growing area

Ismailia governorate is Egypt’s main mango-growing area, and its soil and climate are well suited to the crop.

Quality and compliance

Gaara Export works to GLOBALG.A.P. with GRASP, SMETA and ISO 9001:2015, accredited through EGAC and IAF. Fruit is selected at the right maturity, sorted and graded to the agreed count, and packed for export.

Ordering

We supply Keitt mango in bulk to importers, wholesalers and distributors across Europe, the Gulf, Africa and Asia. Send us the count, carton size, freight mode and destination market, and we will come back with a quote for the season.
