Product Description

Naomi is a mid-to-late season Egyptian mango, picked from the first of July to late August. The fruit runs medium to large, oval with a slightly rounded finish, and colours to a clean golden yellow — no red or purple blush, which is what separates it visually from varieties like Tommy Atkins on the same shelf.

Fruit profile

Shape. Oval to slightly rounded, with a slightly oblique dorsal shoulder and a ventral shoulder set near the stem. The apex is rounded with a small lateral beak.

Peel. Thin to medium thickness, smooth to the touch, golden yellow with scattered light green spots. A thin peel gives better edible yield per kilo but asks for more care in handling and grading, which is where the packhouse work matters.

Flesh. Smooth and deep orange-yellow, juicy, and low in fibre. Low fibre is the reason Naomi mangoes hold up well in fresh-cut and foodservice channels as well as on the retail shelf.

Sizes and counts

Naomi is graded by piece count per 4 kg carton. Three counts are available:

  • 5 – 7 pieces — 800 to 570 g per fruit
  • 7 – 8 pieces — 570 to 500 g per fruit
  • 9 – 10 pieces — 450 to 400 g per fruit

Which counts are open depends on the harvest window and how the crop sizes up in a given season, so confirm the grade with our sales team when you place the order.

Packing and shipping

The standard pack is a 4 kg or 5 kg carton or box. Naomi mangoes are shipped by both air freight and sea freight — air for buyers who want the fruit on shelf at peak condition within days, sea for volume programmes where the cost per kilo drives the decision. Tell us the market and the arrival window and we will advise which route fits.

Carton printing, labels and barcodes are prepared to your specification and to the labelling rules of the destination market.

Quality and compliance

Gaara Export holds GLOBALG.A.P. certification with GRASP for social practice, BRC for food safety, SMETA for ethical trade, ISO 9001:2015 for quality management and ISO 22000 for food-safety management, accredited through EGAC and IAF. Fruit is selected, sorted and graded to the agreed count, then loaded under controlled temperature.

Ordering

We supply Naomi mango in bulk to importers, wholesalers and distributors. Send us the count, carton size, freight mode and destination market, and we will come back with a quote for the season.
